Online Drivers Education Courses
Classroom courses available in some regions
Drive2u offers online driving courses that are state-approved by the TDLR. Our online driving classes cover a range of drivers’ education courses including; an online instructor-led (AMI) teen course, online parent-taught teen driver education (PTDE) program, online adult drivers ed classes, and an online defensive driving classes.  We provide up-to-date defensive driving and safe-driving information.
Online Driving Courses
ADULT PERMIT (18+)
An online 6-hour Adult Drivers Ed program that is TDLR Certified and includes a Written Test. Drivers above 18 years old are eligible to take this course to obtain a learner’s permit.
TEEN PARENT TAUGHT (14-17)
Every Texan driver under 18 years of age who is getting behind the wheel for the first time must successfully finish a Texas state-endorsed 24-hour Driver Education Course. This course, which is fully approved by the state, can be completed entirely online, offering a hassle-free way to meet the requirements and apply for a Texas Learner Permit and Driver’s License. [Note: Upon enrolling in the online course, a $20 fee is required to be paid to TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) to confirm the eligibility of the parent as the instructor for the student.]
PTDE: BEHIND THE WHEEL ONLY

DPS PARENT PACKET
The parent taught program is complex and requires parents, guardians, and designees to work with multiple entities. The Driver Education Teen course consists of a minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction, 7 hours of in-car observation, 7 hours of behind the wheel supervised instruction, and 30 additional hours of behind the wheel instruction.
Before beginning a parent taught course, thoroughly read all webpages to avoid unnecessary costs, delays, or invalidated training hours.
DEFENSIVE DRIVING
Get Drivers Ed offers an officially recognized Texas defensive driving course that's designed to be quick, accessible, and affordable. This course satisfies Texas legal requirements for ticket dismissal and can also qualify you for car insurance discounts.
