ADULT PERMIT (18+)
An online 6-hour Adult Drivers Ed program that is TDLR Certified and includes a Written Test. Drivers above 18 years old are eligible to take this course to obtain a learner’s permit.
TEEN PARENT TAUGHT (14-17)
Every Texan driver under 18 years of age who is getting behind the wheel for the first time must successfully finish a Texas state-endorsed 24-hour Driver Education Course. This course, which is fully approved by the state, can be completed entirely online, offering a hassle-free way to meet the requirements and apply for a Texas Learner Permit and Driver’s License. [Note: Upon enrolling in the online course, a $20 fee is required to be paid to TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) to confirm the eligibility of the parent as the instructor for the student.]
PTDE: BEHIND THE WHEEL ONLY

DPS PARENT PACKET
The parent taught program is complex and requires parents, guardians, and designees to work with multiple entities. The Driver Education Teen course consists of a minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction, 7 hours of in-car observation, 7 hours of behind the wheel supervised instruction, and 30 additional hours of behind the wheel instruction.
Before beginning a parent taught course, thoroughly read all webpages to avoid unnecessary costs, delays, or invalidated training hours.

Finally a Great Driving School. Got this reference from a friend who had an awesome experience with Mrs. Kelly Marsh, with Drive2u driving school. She is customer service driven and is patient with the parents and students. She is flexible with scheduling and understands that our kids do a million activities and she is so accommodating. My son just completed his driving test with her. Not only did she administer the test but she explained everything he did good and bad. Weoved how she walked him step by step through the test and was so thorough and patient. She was more concerned with teaching him than just taking g him on a driving exam. I PASSED!!! When I was 16 I failed the road test twice and have never taken it again. I am now 24 and ready to get my license so I booked a class and a test with Kelly. She made sure to calm my nerves before starting and she really helped me focus on what I need to improve in the future. I am an Asian, not a native English speaker. I had delayed learning to drive because of the fear to drive and not understand my instructor's guidances. Can Drive2u administer the Texas DPS Authorized ROAD TEST?
Yes! We are a third party testing site and quicker than the DPS office with getting you scheduled. Please call/text/email Drive2u to see if you eligible to take the DPS Authorized Road Test.
To qualify for the Third Party Skills Test (TPST) you must:
-Be at least 16 years of age, have held a valid learners permit for a minimum of six months, completed an approved Teen or Parent Taught Driver Education in its entirely, and complete the Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) program,
– OR, Be 18-24 years of age, have completed the adult driver education course in its entirely, have a restricted driver license, and complete the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) program,
– OR, Be 25 years of age or older, have a restriced drivers license, and completed the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITD) program.
Can you help me if I fail the written test?
Yes, we can help. Any student who has taken the written test at the DPS office and has failed, Drive2u can offer several options. Please contact me to discuss options to serve your needs.
How do I schedule my drive times?
Drive times are always available. Please schedule online or call/text/email Drive2u.
What kind of cars do you use for the driving lesson?
We use late model vehicals that are equipped with automatic transmissions, dual-brake systems, and additional rear view mirrors on the instructor’s side.
Are your instructors state certified?
Yes, i am certified through the Texas Department of License Regulations (TDLR). I am a TA-Full licensed instructor meaning I can teach in a driver’s education licensed school or classroom and instruct in a car. I have recieved thorough background check and fingerprints by DPS.

Driving lessons are only provided in the zip codes listed below. If you do not live within any of these zip codes, please contact DRIVE2U directly at (832) 573-9600 to schedule.
